About Real-name registration

Effective 1 September 2021, the Telecommunications (Registration of SIM Cards) Regulation (Cap 106AI) (the “Regulation”) will be implemented.

Timeline: The Regulation is implemented in accordance with the following timeline:

1 September 2021	Commencement of the Regulation.
1 March 2022	New prepaid SIM and service plan SIM1 cards have to be registered before use. Registration starts for existing pre-paid SIM cards.
24 February 2023	Unregistered pre-paid SIM cards will be suspended or deactivated.

Information to be provided: To complete the registration, customers must provide the information required under the Regulation including but not limited to the following:

Type of Customers	Information Required
Individual Customers	Chinese Name (if applicable), English Name, Date of Birth, Copy Identification Document2
Corporate Customers	Company Name, Copy Business Registration Certificate; AND Responsible Persons’ Chinese Name (if applicable), English Name, Date of Birth, Copy Identification Document

Maximum Registration Quota: There is no maximum registration quota for postpaid SIM cards.For pre-paid SIM cards, each operator shall follow below registration Quota;

Type of Customers	Registration Quota
Individual Customers	no more than 10 prepaid SIM cards
Corporate Customers	no more than 25 prepaid SIM cards

If there is inconsistency between the English and Chinese version of this Terms and Conditions, the English version shall prevail.

1 Existing postpaid customers whose SIM service has been activated before 1 March 2022 are not required to re-register unless they subscribe to a new phone number or SIM service.
2 If the registeris a holder of Hong Kong Identity Card, he/she must register the SIM cards with the Hong Kong Identity Card. If the registeris not a holder of Hong Kong Identity Card, he/she may register with a valid travel document (Excluded British National (Overseas) (BN(O)) passport).

2021年9月1日	條例開始生效。
2022年3月1日	新發售的儲值 SIM 卡及月費SIM卡1，都要先經過實名登記的程序方能正式啟用。現有的儲值 SIM 卡開始實名登記。
2023年2月24日	未有完成實名登記的儲值 SIM 卡將被停用或不能繼續使用。

客戶類型	所需資料
個人用戶	中文姓名(如適用)、英文姓名、出生日期、身份證明文件副本2
企業用戶	企業名稱及商業登記證副本;及負責人的中文姓名(如適用)、英文姓名、出生日期、身份證明文件副本

客戶類型	登記配額
個人用戶	不多於10張儲值SIM卡
企業用戶	不多於25張儲值SIM卡
