To prevent your mobile phone from connecting to other destinations in border area and causing additional data roaming charges, please turn off the “Data Roaming" function on your mobile phone before you leave Hong Kong and enable “Data Roaming" function after arriving at your destination.
For example, at the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge you may connect to the network of Macau and China, thus resulting in a Data Roaming Day Pass and a Call Macau Home Pass charges.

1.Avoid unnecessary voice roaming charges

a) Cancel conditional call-forwarding feature
Cancel the conditional call-forwarding feature before leaving Hong Kong. Activating conditional call-forwarding (busy, unreachable and unanswered) to any Hong Kong numbers while roaming will involve two IDD call-routing trips and incur double roaming charges. If you need to forward your calls, choose “All Call Forwarding” and divert all your phone calls to a Hong Kong number or voicemail, which allows you to listen to messages anytime while abroad. If you forward your calls to an overseas number, you will have to pay IDD charges. |

b) Lock the keypad
To avoid accidental calls and unnecessary roaming charges, please remember to lock your mobile phone's keypad after use. |

You can temporarily suspend your roaming service if you wish to prevent handsets from switching to mainland China-based mobile networks while in Hong Kong, which incurs unnecessary roaming charges, or if you do not foresee a need to use the data roaming service while abroad. You can suspend your data roaming service by:
a) Calling our customer service hotline at 8118 3131 to suspend your data roaming service while keeping voice roaming service.
b) Dialing short codes *143*01# before leaving Hong Kong to suspend your (voice and data) roaming service; and *#143*01# to resume the service when you are back to Hong Kong.
c) Setting your phone to Flight Mode to stop using your voice and data roaming service. When a WiFi network is detected, you can turn on the WiFi feature to enjoy free internet.
d) Disabling the Mobile Data and Data Roaming features on your handset, so the data roaming service will be suspended once a network outside of Hong Kong is detected.
* Note: This feature is only applicable to certain handset models. Please check with the manufacturer of your handset.
